Waxing vs Shaving
Dead Skin Cell Removal

😔 Many shaving sessions do not end with the smooth feel you’re looking for. Rather, the area still feels somewhat rough – this is because of the presence of dead skin cells that are not removed by shaving.

🙂 Waxing, on the other hand, exfoliates the skin during HAIR REMOVAL, pulling out dead skin cells along with the hair being removed. This leaves you with a brand new layer of skin that’s completely smooth every time, with a soft and silky feel that simply can’t be matched by a razor.

🌟 Get the Jump on Discomfort

If you’re concerned about discomfort that may come from waxing—especially if it’s your first time—consider taking an ibuprofen an hour prior to your wax appointment 😉
Getting waxed is probably the quickest, easiest way to remove unwanted hair. You’re in, you’re out, you’re smooth. But if you want to be smoother longer there are a few things you can do  to maintain your skin’s glow and keep irritation at bay.

Lasting Results

Shaving is generally considered a temporary method – it will remove hairs at the skin level, but they will grow back (often thicker). WAXING, ON THE OTHER HAND, pulls hair from the roots, weakening hair follicles over time and eventually slowing or even stopping HAIR GROWTH in the area.

Wax Prep
🌟 Shaving + Tweezing 5-7 Days Before Your Wax
This allows your hair to grow out—at least about the 1/4 inch long -1/2 inch long at the most.

🌟 Exfoliate Before Your Reservation
This removes dead skin and allows for a closer wax. It also dramatically lessens your chances of developing ingrown hairs post-wax.

🌟 Plan for Extra Sensitivity
Like a lot of other things, skin can be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle—so consider booking your reservation in between your cycles.

Post Wax Guide
Keep Skin Clean: After your waxing session, gently clean the area with mild, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water. This helps remove any residual wax and prevents infection.

Avoid the sun. Your skin is extra sensitive after a waxing, and exposing it to the sun can cause hyperpigmentation or sun damage. We recommend avoiding direct sunlight for 48 hours before and after your hair removal care for your skin between waxing appointments.   Also avoid tanning beds for the next 48 hours.
Don’t go swimming in a pool. Even a lake or ocean can contain bacteria and may cause an infection when your hair follicles are extra vulnerable.
Don’t exfoliate right away. Give your skin a few days to recover, since waxing itself is a form of exfoliation.
Avoid using products that have harsh chemicals like artificial fragrance, as they can irritate your skin when your pores are most vulnerable.
Cold pack and aloe has soothing and calming effect after waxing especially after face or brazilian wax.
